Contact tINDEX Market Capitalization - Index As of September 2003 index of shares (Market Capitalization) quoted at the Belgrade Stock Exchange will be published under the title tINDEX. Considering that a similar index has not yet been established in Serbia, as commonly found at almost all world stock exchange markets, we have decided to set such index to serve as a kind of "benchmark" to investors in terms of shares, but also to other "market players" and potential participants in stock trading in the Serbian financial market, as well as to the general public. The idea is that in the beginning, in this so-called experimenta phase, tINDEX will play a role of the so-called unofficial indicator of share trends in the Serbian stock market, which is a natural step for any early stage of such index formation. It has also been planned that tINDEX shall retain that "unofficial character". We are aware that only time will add the genuine value to such index as a complex and, first and foremost, useful economic indicator. However, in this initial stage of index preparation, we have no such ambitions as to create some new "Serbian Dow-Jones", but we believe that all stakeholders may benefit from this kind of financial market indicator. Given the fact that we live in the country with inherited bitter experiences stemming from the abuse of the official currency in certain periods through inflatiion (or even hyperinflation!), any preparation of such indicator would mean, to say the very least, a lack of seriousness, if it did not include the so-called "corrective factor" in the "formula" used for calculation. Therefore, in contrast to the financial markets where such inflation factor is not significantly expressed or not expressed at all, we are bound to recognise such «one same index» in two different ways: commonly, as any other stock exchange index and then, again, the same index corrected by the trends of Dinar medium exchange rate trends against Euro (tINDEX€), which will certainly be of use to any foreign investors in the first place.
